There are some Spanish regions that operate peculiar (read "Greedy") local laws. Here's what happens. You find your perfect dream retreat in Spain. You buy it. You go there for holidays or you move in permanently. Everything is as it should be. Then one Sunny Spanish day, you wake up from your dream - it becomes a nightmare. The local government has agreed to let greedy developers take away a chunk of your land for development purposes. Sounds like a comedy made for Spanish TV? No - this is the reality faced by some Spanish property buyers. Their hard earned cash and their dreams are turned into living nightmares by some greedy local governments and greedy local developers. There is worse in store - some property owners are forced to pay big contributions when roads and other amenities are installed by the greedy developers.
