Oracle Supply Chain Management - Order Fulfillment, Enterprise Software

Oracle Corp. announced that a recently released Forrester Research study names Oracle as a leader in order fulfillment solutions, giving high marks to Oracle's current offering, strategy and overall market presence. The findings were based on Forrester Research's evaluation of thirteen order fulfillment offerings from both best-of-breed and suite applications companies, and are detailed in the June 2003 Forrester Wave(TM) Report, Grading Order Fulfillment Solutions.

Order fulfillment software helps companies manage and coordinate orders for goods and services electronically among internal departments and external partners. Oracle's order fulfillment software is part of its supply chain offering, and thus fully automates the entire process. This complete automation helps ensure customers receive what they ordered on time and with maximum efficiency.

To this end, the report noted the need for order fulfillment applications that address the entire order process, stating that globally outsourced supply chains and the lack of visibility and collaboration among fulfillment partners make the process complex. Given the mandate for multicompany coordination, point solutions that address only individual elements of this broader process won't cut it. Rather, firms need an end-to-end solution.

Oracle's order fulfillment software enables seamless and timely integration between all related business areas -- customer relationship management, financials, manufacturing, order management, transportation management, and warehouse management - to provide visibility and management of an order throughout the entire order-to-cash flow, including order capture, configuration, picking and packing, shipping and invoicing.
