Executives from Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, and MicroStrategy To Define Technology Imperatives for Business Performance Management in a New Age of Oversight, Accountability, and Compliance 

IntelligentBPM Conference and Expo, the independent conference focused on providing awareness and education on leading business trends, case studies, and technologies that enable business performance management, announced an additional keynote presentation focused on the most critical issue in business today: how to create a performance management infrastructure to support the demands for greater oversight, accountability, and regulatory compliance. This challenge requires the collaboration of CEOs, CFOs, and CIOs, who together must implement trustworthy, robust, and flexible solutions that enhance profitability without stifling innovation.

This keynote will feature a roundtable discussion amongst top executives from four leading companies that provide technology products and services in the areas of business intelligence, reporting, and business performance management, including:

John Olsen, President and COO, Business Objects  -- Olsen runs global operations and oversees the management team for the Americas, Europe, Japan, and the International Distribution Division, which covers regional distributors in the rest of the world. He is also responsible for worldwide marketing, alliances, professional services, customer support, and the Business Objects e-store. Olsen has more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry. Olsen holds a master's degree in management science from the University of South Florida, and a B.S. in industrial engineering from Iowa State University.

Robert Ashe, President and COO, Cognos -- Ashe joined Cognos in 1984, and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company. Ashe oversees Cognos' sales, marketing, R&D, corporate development, and worldwide customer services functions and is a Cognos veteran who has held senior positions in finance, operations, research and development, and worldwide services. Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Ottawa and became a Chartered Accountant with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1984.

Godfrey Sullivan, President and COO, Hyperion -- Sullivan became Hyperion's president and chief operating officer in October 2001. Sullivan brings to Hyperion more than 20 years experience in global operations management in the software industry. As president and COO, he oversees most Hyperion business operations, including sales, marketing, professional services, customer support, development and human resources. Sullivan received his BBA from Baylor University, and has completed executive programs at Stanford and the Wharton School.

Sanju Bansal, Executive Vice President and COO, MicroStrategy -- Bansal has served as executive VP and COO since 1993 and was previously VP, consulting since joining MicroStrategy in 1990. He has been a member of the board of directors of MicroStrategy since September 1997 and has served as vice chairman since November 2000. Mr. Bansal received an S.B. in Electrical Engineering from MIT and an M.S. in Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University.

These technology leaders will be joined on the panel by Mark Smith, Senior Vice President of Research at Ventana Research and IntelligentBPM Conference Co-Director. The panel will be moderated by David Stodder, Editorial Director of Intelligent Enterprise magazine, who is also a Co-Director of the event. The panel is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, and will follow the keynote session of Norman E. Lorentz, CTO of the Office of Management and Budget for the US Federal Government and the leader of an innovative effort to apply emerging BPM technology to improve the U.S. government's technical, information, and business architectures.
